Presentation
The Encuentro Consolider “Nanoscale
Devices for Environmental and Energy Applications“ (NDEEA) took
place in the Hotel Barceló Costa Vasca, Donostia (San Sebastián), 26-27
april 2010.
At the moment there is an enormous interest to find innovative solutions to solve problems related to the production process, the storage, or concerning the way
to save clean energy, using nanoscale methods to create viable devices. This Conference organised by the Consolider HOPE project in cooperation with CIDETEC, the
Consolider Molecular Nanoscience, CIC Nanogune project, and CIC Energigune center, reviewed the recent advances in the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal)
on the research of Nanoscale Devices for Environmental and Energy Applications. The Conference was addressed to all the scientific community that is interested on
these subjects. The conference aimed to establish cooperation bonds between the countries on this geographic area and for all those who their work relates to the
field mentioned above. For that reason, and considering the important challenges during the next decades, the Conference prioritised the participation of young
researchers.
